Wellbeing Course – Jan 2025
This 4 week wellbeing course is an introduction to breathwork, learning how to use the 3 part diaphragmatic breath, consciously using your lungs to their full capacity. The first week will be all about mastering the 3 part breath and experiencing the deep relaxation that is achieved from utilising and controlling the breath for a period of time. Each breathwork session will flow seamlessly into a crystal bowl sound bath and each week we will learn some tapping techniques for emotional wellbeing.
The following 3 weeks will build in all the techniques and experience needed to confidently develop a daily practice of breathwork made up of active breathwork, breath holds and relaxing calm breathwork which stimulates a meditative state.
The course will take places weekly, every Saturday morning in January 9.00 -10.30am at Mi Pilates Studio in Cockermouth. I will demonstrate and guide you through the techniques building these skills over the 4 weeks.
Dates – 4/1/25, 11/1/25, 18/1/25, 25/1/25
The breath techniques used originate from yoga – Dirga Pranayama, so have been used for thousands of years. Active breathwork stimulates the nervous system and helps to shift energy within the body, it can have a profound energising and clearing effect. The calming relaxing breathwork, in the second half of each session, calms the nervous system, allowing the body and mind to fully relax and slow down, this breath activates the parasympathetic nervous system allowing the body to rest and repair. The crystal bowl sound bath is the perfect way to deepen the relaxation that you drop into with breathwork, when used with breatwork you can shift rapidly through the brain states and into a deep state of rest and repair as the nervous system is soothed and calmed and the brain can enter Delta / Theta states where the real magic happens!!
Accross the 4 weeks we will explore a range of tapping techniques that are used to release emotions, reducing stress and anxiety.
